The forms in this work stem from leaves and branches. Organic forms, reduced to elementary abstract shapes, are cut out or printed on paper.
The artist's current work focuses on how these forms relate to one another. Most often the forms are not in sync. The interplay between balance and imbalance is the source of tension which captures attention.
The imperfect fit leaves space between the shapes, which changes depending how the shapes are positioned. The space inbetween is as important as the shapes themselves, creating a sense of levitation or compression, of stability or fragility.
Some pictures differ only in the irregular positioning of the shapes and spaces, while the number, size and colour of the shapes remain identical.
